EVENT SUMMARY

Last September New York City kids, residents, and homeless 

agency workers volunteered to prepare for the first-ever Even Footing Girls Soccer Day event. 

SEPTEMBER 5th PREPARATION DAY 
Volunteers gathered at the West Side High School Gym to blow up 

300 soccer balls, pack sneakers, organize uniforms, and fill swag bags for all of the girls from shelters. 

SEPTEMBER 6th EVENT DAY 
Three hundred girls living in homeless shelters and foster care 

across New York City participated in a day of athletic activity, team-building, training, and fun. The event was held at the Frederick 

Douglass Playground and led by Olympic gold medalist and 

U.S. Women's National Soccer Team member Kristine Lilly.
