2017 Annual Girls Soccer Day

Event Summary

On September, New York City kids and residents and homeless agency workers volunteered to prepare for the first-ever Even Footing Girls Soccer Day event. 

September 5th Preparation Day

Volunteers gathered at the West Side High School Gym to blow up 300 soccer balls, pack sneakers, uniforms, and bags or the girls from shelters. 

September 6th Event Day

300 girls living in homeless shelters and foster care across New York City participated in a day of athletic activity, team-building, training and fun. The event was held at the Frederick Douglass Playground and field led by Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Women's National Soccer Team member Kristine Lilly.

Donations From:

Nike(sneakers), NY District Attorney's Office (Backpacks), Zabars (Apples), Fairway (gift certificate for water), Bnai Jersuran (PA system), and WSSL (Scholarships).

Prep day: West Side High School gym (140 West 102nd Street)  Event day: Frederick Douglass Playground and Field (Amsterdam Avenue at 101st Street)
